The members of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal decided that a city wide protest will be launched in case the Estate Office increases the rates for conversion charges,compounding fees,floor area ratio,etc. at a meeting of the members held today on Wednesday.
The members also decided that a memorandum demanding amendments in the Food Safety and Standards Act would be submitted to the Home Secretary on Thursday. The members also objected to the proposal for increase in property tax on commercial buildings from three per cent to five per cent.
