Batsmen put Mohali in commanding position

After restricting Jalandhar to a first innings total of 112 runs,Mohali resumed at their overnight score of 148 for 1 and posted a total of 399 runs in their first innings.

Half centuries each by Pukhraj Singh (93),Anmoljeet Singh (78) and Kinderpreet Singh (56) guided Mohali to a massive 287-run first innings’ lead over Jalandhar on the second day of the match of the Dhruv Pandove Trophy being played at PCA Stadium. After restricting Jalandhar to a first innings total of 112 runs,Mohali resumed at their overnight score of 148 for 1 and posted a total of 399 runs in their first innings.

Pukhraj Singh was the top scorer for the Mohali side as he played a knock of 93 runs. He was associated in a 128-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Anmoljeet Singh. Anmoljeet played a knock of 78 runs off 147 balls and smashed 12 boundaries during his knock. Pukhraj played a scintillating knock of 93 runs off 155 balls and smashed ten boundaries and one towering six. For Jalandhar,Rohit Moriya claimed three wickets for 47 runs while Karan Bharghav grabbed three wickets for 71 runs. Rishin Sharma claimed two wickets for 73 runs. At the end of the day’s play,Jalandhar were 33 for 1 in nine overs. Rajat Sharma was unbeaten on 16 runs.

A brilliant century by Vineet Dhaka (123 off 256 balls) guided Chandigarh to a first innings total of 448 runs in their first innings in another match played at Patiala. The Chandigarh batsman added 86 runs for the eight wicket along with N Aggarwal before departing at an individual score of 123 runs. Aggarwal played a knock of 67 runs off 167 balls and smashed 12 boundaries during his knock. For Patiala,S Sharma claimed three wickets for 115 runs while A Kumar grabbed three wickets for 75 runs. S Singh claimed three wickets for 102 runs. At the end of the day’s play,Patiala were 109 for 3 in 39 overs. P Singh played a knock of 56 runs while M Bawa contributed 44 runs. For Chandigarh,Arpit Pannu grabbed three wickets for 41 runs.

Nikhil slams double ton
