At UICET,professor from Dayton varsity delivers talk

The talk was based on the topic,‘Simulation of Solid State Lithium Based Cells’.

Panjab University (PU) alumnus and Professor of Chemical Engineering University of Dayton,Dayton,Ohio,Dr Sarwan S Sandhu delivered a technical talk at Dr S S Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (SSB UICET),PU on Monday.

Organised by SSB UICET in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE),the talk was attended by prominent IIChE dignitaries and students of the institute.

The talk was based on the topic,‘Simulation of Solid State Lithium Based Cells’,wherein Professor Sandhu discussed the modern scenario of pollution and energy crisis,highlighting the importance of Lithium-based cells in the contemporary era. He also talked about the technical theory surrounding fuel cells and reiterated the need of fuel cells to combat energy-crisis and pollution. The talk was followed by an interactive session,wherein a number of students sought answers to their questions.

Professor Sandhu was a student of chemical engineering at PU in 1966,after which he went on to study at different international universities. His research interests include Batteries/fuel cells,application of thermodynamics,kinetics and reaction engineering; fluidisation,electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering,optics and materials science engineering.
