At last count,14 throw in hat from Kalka,16 from Panchkula

Shashi Sharma of the Haryana Janhit Congress,Sanjeev Bhardwaj of the BSP,Rajesh Arya of Lok Janshakti Party,D K Saxena of the National Panthers’ party and Narayan Das of the Lokpriya Samaj Party were among nine candidates who filed their nomination papers for Panchkula Assembly seat on Friday.

Shashi Sharma of the Haryana Janhit Congress,Sanjeev Bhardwaj of the BSP,Rajesh Arya of Lok Janshakti Party,D K Saxena of the National Panthers’ party and Narayan Das of the Lokpriya Samaj Party were among nine candidates who filed their nomination papers for Panchkula Assembly seat on Friday.

With this,the total number of nominations goes up to 16,with five of them independents. Only on of the 16,Saroj Bala,is a woman.

“While the time for the nominations ended at 3 pm,three candidates who were already in the office completed the formalities by 4.30 pm,” said Panchkula SDM Rajpal Singh.

There were murmurs that former deputy CM Chander Mohan could throw in his hat as an independent,sources said he dropped the idea after discussing it with his family.

As for Shashi Sharma,the candidate from HJC,he was previously in fray for the Congress ticket but decided to switch loyalties after he was denied a ticket.

Parwanoo: On the last of filing of nomination for Haryana polls,nine candidates filed their papers for the Kalka constituency on Friday. This takes the total number of nominees to 14.

Bhagat Singh,a Congress dissident,filed his nomination as an independent candidate,apart from

Narinder Nath,Varinder Singh,Shugam Chand,Rubby,Rash Pal Mehta and Amit Sharma (independents),Ramphal of the Nationalist Congress Party and Ram Gopal Mehra of Haryana Janhit Congress.
