THE BSP on Monday said that AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s rally in Punjab on March 15 will have no effect on the rally to be addressed by their national president Mayawati on the same day.
While the AAP rally is at Ropar, Mayawati will address a gathering at Nawanshaher. March 15 is the birthday of Kanshi Ram, the BSP founder.
State BSP president, Avtar Singh Karimpuri, who was in Ludhiana on Monday to take stock of arrangements for the Mayawati rally, said,“Kejriwal is frustrated and hence he has planned a parallel rally when our supremo Mayawati is coming. Kejriwal is himself against reservation and the organisers of his event are those who have switched from other parties. They don’t even know the fundamentals of Kanshi Ram, so how can they woo Dalits. So we are not bothered”.
Narinder Kashyap, general secretary of the party, said,” the gathering will outnumber any other rally held in Punjab before and Kejriwal will himself take his popularity test”.
