CHANDIGARH: Professor Sunil K Arora of the Department of Immunopathology,PGIMER,has been awarded with the Fogarty Fellowship under the NIH (USA) funded collaborative AIDS International Training & Research Program (AIRTP). Under this programme,Dr Arora will work at the New York University School of Medicine for two months (June and July 2012) to develop future collaborative research projects between PGIMER and NYUSoM on identification and characterisation of HIV variants as they evolve in a human host before treatment and also under the drug pressure during highly active anti-retroviral treatment (HAART).

CHANDIGARH: Two students of Dikshant International School,Zirakpur,brought laurels to their school by winning the first prize in the 31st NASA NSS Annual International Space Development Conference-2012,which was held in Washington,DC. The students,Nandini Sharma and Maanya Sharma of Class IX,made a project on Space Colony On Mars,which was adjudged the best by NASA from more than 600 projects.
