CHANDIGARH: The new UT Superintendent of Police(Traffic) Maneesh Chaudhary is likely to join office on Thursday. He will be joining the post that has been lying vacant since HS Doon left. At present,DIG Alok Kumar has been holding charge of SP (traffic). Chaudhary is currently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP),Panchkula.

Mohali resident charged with cheating & fraud

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police has registered a case of cheating and fraud against a Mohali resident,who allegedly submitted fake documents as surety in a cheque bounce case. According to the police,Munish Kumar,a resident of Phase 1 Mohali,had submitted a fake driving license and registration certificate in the court of Parinder Singh,JMIC in a cheque bounce case involving a private firm. The case has been registered against the accused at the Sector 17 police station.
