Dhawan holds cleanliness drive

A cleanliness drive was undertaken in Grain Market by senior BJP leader Harmohan Dhawan. He alleged that though the market committee collects crores of rupees from the traders,it plays no role in the maintenance and development of the market. Dhawan and his supporters urged the vendors not to encroach upon the area and block roads. A demand was raised for allowing temporary sheds in front of the shops.

ISB to host first admission information session

HCS officer Mahavir Kaushik asks to be repatriated

Even though the UT Administration is facing a hard time in getting bureaucrats for the city,with several having been given extensions,HCS officer Mahavir Kaushik has asked to be repatriated. Kaushik is at present the SDM-cum-Registering and Licensing Authority. Kaushik was earlier posted as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC). However,the charge was given to AGMUT cadre officer Kavle V Parshuram. This had created resentment among the officers from the states as the post of ADC was traditionally held by someone from the cadre.

24 students of UIPS qualify for GPAT test

As many as 24 students of the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS),Panjab University (PU) have qualified in the graduate pharmacy aptitude test (GPAT) and three students have secured a position in the first 100 rank in the GPAT 2013. The results of GPAT were declared on Friday.

Jaspreet Singh from UIPS scored the 19th All India Rank,while Deepanmol Singh got the 46th rank and Harneet Kaur bagged the 83rd rank.
