Blood donation camp at Express office today
CHANDIGARH: The Indian Express Blood Donor’s Club will be organising its 24th blood donation camp at the office premises in Sector 6,Panchkula on February 24. A team of doctors from Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32 will be present on the occasion. The camp will be held from 9.30 am to 3 pm. Supriyo Kumar Chaudhuri,General Manager of State Bank of India (Local Head Office) will be the chief guest. Sundarams and Talwar Dairy are the sponsors for the camp.
Kisan body to mull Union’s water policy
CHANDIGARH: Bharti Kisan Union (BKU),Sidhupur,and Internationalist Democratic Party (IDP) will be organising a seminar on Draft National Water Policy-2012 at Kisan Bhawan on February 25. Water experts Pritam Singh Kumedan and retired Chief Engineer G S Dhillon will be the main speakers at the seminar. The Union Ministry of Water Resources has invited suggestions and objections regarding the policy up to February 29.
Signature campaign to relax visa norms for India,Pakistan
CHANDIGARH: The Peace Club of Dev Samaj College of Education in association with volunteers of Yuvsatta launched a signature campaign,on Thursday,for visa-on-arrival program for young students and senior citizens of India and Pakistan at Dev Samaj College of Education. Pramod Sharma,coordinator of Yuvsatta said that the students aim to collect 10,000 signatures from the city favouring relaxed visa regime which will be later sent to the Prime Minister of India. Kabir Khan,Consultant in Punjab Ombudsman Office in Pakistan was the chief guest on the occasion.
SAARC Award for PGI Radiologist
CHANDIGARH: Dr Pankaj Nepal,junior resident at the Department of Radiodiagnosis was awarded the Dr S K Agrawal Best Paper Award (2nd prize in the oral scientific paper presentation) at the recently concluded SAARC congress of Radiology.
