RIDING high on Anmol’s knock of 56 runs,St Anne’s School Sector 32,recorded a fine 49-run win over St Stephen’s School Sector 45,in a match played during the ongoing UT Inter-School Cricket Tournament for boys at the Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 32,on Tuesday. Batting first,St Anne’s School posted a total of 133 runs,losing four wickets in 20 overs. Anmol (56) and Arjun Gautam (32) were the main architects of the St Anne’s innings. In reply,St Stephen’s team bundled out for 84 runs in 17 overs. For the winning team,Saksham bowled well to take three wickets. In another match,Chandigarh Baptist School recorded an easy win over Shishu Niketan Sector 22,Chandigarh. In the U-17 boys section,Mount Carmel School beat GMSSS Sector 40 by 60 runs. St John’s School beat KB DAV School by five wickets to move ahead in the tournament. Meanwhile,St Joseph’s School Sector 44 beat Government Model Senior Secondary School Manimajra.

Aanchal adjudged best gymnast

Aanchal Sharma of Shishu Niketan Sector 43 secured top position to bag the best all-round gymnasts (rhythmic) award in the ongoing UT gymnastics inter-school tournament for U-17 girls. Meanwhile,Ishita Dhir of DAV Public School Sector 8,bagged second and Sonamdeep Kaur of SGGSC Public School,Sector 26 finished third. In the rhythmic ball event,Ishita Dhir of DAV Public School Sector 8 bagged the top spot,Aanchal got the second position while Neha of GMSSS-19 and Ridhi of GMSSS-43 finished joint third. In the hoop event,Sonamdeep Kaur captured the top spot while Aanchal grabbed the top honours in the club event.
