With land acquisition for the Pinjore-Kalka urban complex over, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is likely to invite applications by the end of this year and hold draw of lots by February next year.
At present, layout plan of the project and Sector 27 and 28 of Panchkula is being finalised. The project is part of Panchkula Extension (I).
Officials of the department of town planning said the land acquisition process was completed in November last year and now they were reassessing the blueprint for any changes.
Completion of all formalities would take another two months. By December,we would invite expressions of interest for residential and commercial projects, a senior HUDA official said.
This would be followed by the draw of lots, likely to be held in February next year. By March, plots would be handed over to successful applicants, the official said.
The land acquired for the project on the periphery of Pinjore and Kalka includes both barren and agricultural land.
The Pinjore-Kalka urban complex would have 31 sectors spread across over 11,000 acres. The complex would have commercial and educational institutions and ring roads.
Officials expect a good response to the project, which would address the growing demand for urban areas and help decongest Panchkula.
