Akash’s brace sets up GMHS-26 triumph

A brace by Akash guided Government Model High School,Sector 26 to an easy 3-0 win over New Public School,Sector 18 in a match in the Inter-School football tournament (U-14 boys) held at Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 22.

It was a superb display by GMHS-26 forwards as they were in the attacking mode right from the start of the match. Rajinder scored the opening goal for the team in the 12th minute of the match before Akash scored his first goal of the match in the 30th minute before scoring his second goal of the match in the 46th minute of the match. It was a narrow win for Delhi Public School,Sector 40 as they scored a 3-2 via tie-breaker over Ashiana Public School,Sector 46. Gurkaran,Himmat and Japneet scored the goals for the winning team while Nischal and Harneet scored for Ashiana Public School. In another match of the day,St Kabir School,Sector 26 scored a narrow 1-0 win over Strawberry Fields School while Tribune Model School scored a 1-0 win over Bhavan Vidyalaya School,Sector 27.

In the UT Inter-School U-14 Boys Cricket Tournament,St Anne’s Convent School scored an easy eight-wicket win over Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36. Batting first,Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36 posted a paltry score of 88 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Harminder was the top scorer for the team as he played a knock of 28 runs while Bhavneet scored 26 runs. For St Anne’s Convent School,Jaideep claimed three wickets for 13 runs while Anmol claimed two wickets for nine runs. Chasing a target of 89 runs,At Anne’s Convent School reached the target for the loss of two wickets in 12.5 overs. Anmol Puri played a knock of 33 runs while Jaideep contributed 16 runs.

In the Inter-School Hockey Tournament U-14 boys,GMHS-42 claimed the title with a 4-0 win over Shivalik Public School. In the U-17 category,DAV-8 scored a 4-0 win over SGGSSS-35 while GMHS-42 scored a 5-0 win over GMSSS-44.
