Mock tests will be conducted based on the entire syllabus.

City-BASED coaching centres are geared up to provide one month coaching and revision classes to the All India Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT) aspirants free of cost. However, very few students are opting for the same.

City-based tutors admit to the fact that the percentage of students who will be taking the retest scheduled for July 25 has suddenly gone down. This is because most of the students have already secured good ranks in other colleges including Indraprastha University (IPU), New Delhi, Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

One of the students, Vishal, said, “As per the answer keys of the first AIPMT exam, I had secured 490. At the same time, IPU and CMC had also announced their results, where I secured ranks 54 and 47, respectively. Since I know that I will get admission in any of these colleges, why should I wait till August for the results once again?”

However, for all those who will be taking the exam, the coaching centres have divided a particular subject into four parts and the institutes will conduct six-eight tests after a gap of every four days. At the end, mock tests will be conducted based on the entire syllabus.

After every test, the institutes will interact with students and will discuss their problems. However, very few students are coming to the institutes to clarify their doubts as students are preferring self-study, said a Physics tutor, S P Gupta.

A Biology tutor, Dr Arvind Goyal, said, “Besides tests and revision, students will be taught a methodological way of studying in a month’s time. There are a lot students who have decided to not to take the AIPMT retest. All those who will be taking it are not coming to clear their doubts but will be coming for the tests.”
