With a view to boost the partys prospects in the election year, the state BJP leadership is trying hard to win back the alienated party workers and making all out efforts to assuage their hurt feelings. So much so that the party bigwigs are sparing no endeavour to please those who feel neglected in the party and have started giving special attention towards their demands.
Sources in the party said Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal is lending an ear even to the smallest demand of the party workers and assuring them that its fulfilment.
Although the state party leadership always denied that there are any internal squabbles, but the things looked otherwise during a two-day meeting of the Kangra parliamentary party workers which was organised in the run up of the Lok Sabha polls to give tips to the cadre.
The workers aired out their feelings and showed anger albeit in a hush hush manner in the corridors of the Yatri Sadan at Chamunda Devi about 20 kilometres from here. Some of the workers tried to gather the attention of the leaders during the meeting separately.
Sources said that some of the party workers gave signals in the meeting that all is not well and party cadre is feeling ignore and alienated. Efforts are being made to win back those who had rebelled during the December 2008 Vidhan Sabha polls, the sources said.
