Elaborate security and administrative arrangements have been put in place for the 9-day long Navratras beginning on 5 October at the Mansa Devi shrine complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner S P Arora said on Thursday that arrangements have been made at the shrine complex,while adding that 42 closed circuit televisions (CCTV) had been set up in and around the shrine complex to avoid any untoward incident.
Arora also said that some 800 police personnel will be deployed around the shrine. Besides the setting up of CCTVs,police personnel will keep a round-the-clock check at the temple site. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will perform the puja on the opening day,he said.
Arora added that special health teams would provide health check up facility around the shrine.
We have reserved three beds at the Sector 6 government hospital to meet any emergency conditions, said Arora,adding that besides the two ambulances that will be stationed around the shrine during the festival,multi-speciality doctors will be made available for the assistance of the devotees.
We have also made arrangements of better sanitation around the temple complex and special teams will also keep a check on the quality of food being served by shopkeepers around the temple site, Arora added. He said that to ensure senior citizens and the handicapped people perform the puja with ease at the temple,special arrangements have been put in place. Also,carts will be made available to ensure a smooth festival.
