Afghani impersonation case: UT Police says have informed embassy about arrests

UT Police officials on Thursday said that the Afghanistan Embassy had been informed about the arrest of three Afghani students,who were allegedly caught for impersonation.

UT Police officials on Thursday said that the Afghanistan Embassy had been informed about the arrest of three Afghani students,who were allegedly caught for impersonation. The Indian who had been giving the exam for one of the students is still at large.

A police officials said,“We have written to the Afghanistan embassy about the arrest. They will decided what action needs to be taken against the students. There is a possibility that these students will be deported and blacklisted”.

Two Afghani students were allegedly caught by the UT police while impersonating in the semester examinations being held in Government College,Sector 11,and one student in Government School,Sector 11,on April 29. The accused were remanded in judicial custody on Thursday.

Mujeeb-ur-Rehman was arrested by the police after he had asked an Indian student to appear for him in an examination. While the Indian fled after he learnt about the flying squad raid,the Afghani was arrested from the school on the basis of his admit card.
