Police,on Saturday, arrested Shailendra, alias Sanju, the prime accused in the murder of a 21-year old youth, whose body was found dumped at the Sector 6 General Hospital.
While the police had suspected a case of poisoning initially,it was later confirmed that the deceased,Gurvinder Singh, died due to drug overdose. On Friday, the police arrested Manish Chaudhary,a Ramgarh resident and Amanpreet, alias Tony,a resident of Moginand village in the matter. The three had been arrested based on CCTV footage recovered from the hospital where they dumped the deceased on a stretcher outside the emergency unit.
According to the police,Sanju,a Ramgarh resident and a drug supplier, had consumed drugs along with the other four on Tuesday. When Gurvinder lost consciousness, the other three threw him into a Bolero jeep and later dumped him at the hospital.
Singh owned a flour shop in Madanpur and had left home with his cousin around 4.30 pm. He had then boarded the Bolero where Sanju and two others were waiting for him. Gurvinder had been rushed to PGI from the Sector 6 hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. His post-mortem report showed a ruptured spleen, but the police is yet to find out whether he was beaten up or not.
He could have sustained the injury marks on his back when he was thrown in the jeep or when he was being dumped on the stretcher. We have not found any traces of any weapon used, said Inspector Arvind,SHO,Chandimandir Police Station.
A case has been registered under Section 302,328,201,120-B of the IPC against the three, while Manish and Tony have been sent on two-day police remand. Sanju will be produced before the court on Sunday.
