Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, in her Bathinda constituency on Sunday, called the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) “B team of Congress.

Sunday began the first of her four-day visit to her constituency. A local resident claimed that this was the first time in four months that the union minister visited her constituency. The day saw her laying foundation stones of projects worth Rs 73 crore.

“Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while contesting elections against former Delhi CM Shiela Dixit, had announced that he will open all corruption files against Dixit once his government came to power. However, he did nothing and in fact he did nothing against any Congress leader,” she said. “During Kejriwal’s Punjab visit he said that there would be no water-sharing with Haryana while in Delhi, his statement was the opposite. So he has been exposed badly and in fact on lines of Delhi, AAP is working more as B team of Congress in Punjab.”

“The recent decision of CM Parkash Singh Badal to de-notify SYL land project is a historical decision which no one can match,” she claimed.

The minister said that she will be visiting rural areas of her constituency where she will be attending sangat darshan programmes of over 35 villages and will also be distributing grants worth crores apart from laying foundation stones for more projects.

On Sunday, she inaugurated a water works programme worth Rs 2 crore, while the rest were foundation stone laying events in different wards of Bathinda, including a one-stop crisis centre for women which is a Central government project.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal condemned Ludhiana MP Ravneet Bittu’s alleged statement that he wanted to act like a “human bomb” to hit CM Parkash Singh Badal. Harsimrat said, “If he has issued such a statement, it is highly condemnable and Congress president Sonia Gandhi must take action against him.”
