Clarifying the Aam Admi Party (AAP)’s stand on the controversial issue of construction of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday categorically said that he was against the construction of the canal as Punjab does not have enough water to share with other states.
Arvind Kejriwal was replying to a question by the media on the issue at Seechewal village where he was visiting environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal.
The Delhi CM visited the Seechwal model of sewer water treatment plant and assured to implement the same across Punjab when in power.
He also invited Baba Seechewal to Delhi to be part of the planning of the cleaning of Yamuna river.
Baba Seechewal also presented a memorandum to Kejriwal in which he had urged him to also include issues pertaining to environment in his manifesto.
Kejriwal visits two deras
During his visit to Doaba region, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited two religious deras- Dera Sachkhand Ballan of Ravidassia community and Dera Pargat Nath of Valmiki community in Rahimpur village.
