A technical team from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) visited the Adampur Air Force Station to ascertain the feasibility of the proposed domestic airport on Friday.
The team included Debashish Khan, General Manager (Planning), SK Soni, Deputy General Manager (Operation) and Rajeev Handa, Deputy General Manager (Civil), who inspected the area.
K K Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, also accompanied them.
“At least 50 acres more is required. Since majority of this land belong to private persons, the government will have to acquire it,” said Khan.
He also emphasised that a No Objection Certificate is also required from the Air Force.
Khan said the ministry of defence has not yet given the NOC.
