Aadil Bedi,one of the top junior golfers from Chandigarh,justified his invitation to the World Juniors Masters Golf Championship,that was held at Las Vegas,USA,by clinching the sixth spot on the final day of the championship.
Playing in hot and humid conditions,Aadil Bedi,a student of Vivek High School,Chandigarh,shot a final round of 73 to claim the sixth spot in the championship. Bedi shot a round of 77 on the opening day of the championship before carding a score of 73 in the second round in the championship.
“It was a satisfying performance for me as finishing sixth among 65 of the world’s top ranked golfers will boost my confidence a lot. I shot good rounds on the last two days but on the first day,I shot a round of 77 and dropped my score,” said Bedi,12, while speaking from USA.
Connor Motherway of USA won the championship with an overall score of 218 while Sampson Zheng of China claimed the second spot with the score of 219. Brett Sodetz of Mexico finished at the third spot with the score of 221.
The youngster will now play in the World Junior Cup to be played at Pinehurst,USA,from August 1 to August 3. “I am very confident that I will do well in Pinehurst too as I am used to playing on fast greens in USA,” said Bedi.
