600 students register on Day 1 of centralised admissions to BCom

Admission seekers can register online up to June 23.

As many as 600 students have registered online at the official website,http://bcomadmissions.puchd.ac.in./admissions-colleges.php,on the first day for centralised admissions to BCom first year in 12 institutions in Chandigarh.

There are 1,120 seats in co-education colleges,770 seats in women’s colleges and 140 seats in men’s colleges in Chandigarh. Admission seekers can register online up to June 23.

The application forms can be submitted by post or by hand up to June 26 up to 5 pm at the University School of Open Learning,Panjab University. The tentative merit list will be displayed on July 1.

The Panjab University spokesman said that the students applying for BCom-I are not required to fill the preferences of the colleges in the application form. It will be allocated during Physical Counseling only.


Students can make the demand draft of any schedule bank from any branch throughout the country,preferably nearest to their Home town.

In case some error or mistake is committed by them during the filling of the online forms,students should communicate the correction on email id bcomadmissions@pu.ac.in mentioning their application form number.

TCWA holds 132nd blood donation camp

The 132nd Blood Donation Camp was organised by the Thalassemic Children Welfare Association (TCWA) on Saturday. The camp was inaugurated by Dr Zora Singh,Chancellor,Desh Bhagat University,Chairman,Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes,Managing Director,Doctor Z India Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.,and Chairman,Desh Bhagat Radio.

Singh congratulated and praised the efforts of TCWA in saving the lives of serious patients,especially during summer months when there is an acute shortage of blood.

The camp was conducted by a team of doctors/ technicians headed by Dr Neelam Marwaha,Head,Department of Blood Transfusion and member of Medical Advisory Board of the Association. More than 313 donors donated blood in the camp.

The association congratulated and thanked all the donors who came from Punjab,Haryana,Chandigarh,Uttar Pradesh,and Himachal Pradesh to donate blood for Thalassaemia patients.
