5-kg heroin seized from two Nigerians

The Amritsar (Rural) police today arrested two Nigerians,identified as Belleth and Emiko Ugo,who lived in a rented accommodation in Mohali,and recovered 5-kg heroin from them. The contraband was concealed in bags.

Amritsar Rural SP (H) Dilbagh Singh said the police,on a tip-off,laid a trap at Rayya on Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road,where the duo was waiting for a bus. When asked about their credentials,they tried to run away,but were nabbed.

“We have registered a case under various sections of the NDPS Act and further investigation about the source and destination of the heroin is on,” said the SP,adding that while Belleth is doing a computer course in Mohali,Ugo is on a visitor’s visa to India.
