53-year-old man killed as speeding motorcycle hits him

According to sources, the victim was going towards his home when a motorcycle heading towards Sector 25/38 light point hit him. The motorcycle hit the victim from behind causing serious injuries.

A 53-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was by a speeding motorcycle near Sector 25 in Chandigarh on Sunday night. The victim has been identified as Digambar Prasad, a resident of Sector 25.

According to sources, the victim was going towards his home when a motorcycle heading towards Sector 25/38 light point hit him. The motorcycle hit the victim from behind causing serious injuries.

The police were informed about the accident after which the victim was rushed to GMSH-16 and later, he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.

The victim was a labourer. Police said that the accused was identified as 22-year-old Piyush, a resident of Dadu Majra. The body of victim was handed over to his family members on Monday.

A case against Piyush was registered at Maloya police station. The victim is survived by his wife and three children.
