3 held for duping people by advertising for jobs in Agri Dept

Police have busted a recruitment scam in the Agriculture Department with the arrest of three people who had issued advertisements in an unauthorised manner in the newspapers seeking applications for jobs in the Haryana Agriculture Planning and Development Department.

Police have busted a recruitment scam in the Agriculture Department with the arrest of three people who had issued advertisements in an unauthorised manner in the newspapers seeking applications for jobs in the Haryana Agriculture Planning and Development Department.

The three people,who have been identified as Sunil,Dinesh and Anand,have been remanded to two days police custody by a local court here,police said,adding that they were earlier booked for issuing fake advertisements on June 7 for the jobs in the Agriculture Department against which they had even received some 1,000 applications.

The three persons had mentioned in the advertisments that the form fee against the vacancies of district agriculture manager,district agriculture officer,assistant district agriculture officer,accountant and computer operator and store keeper and peon in the department could be paid into the account of Haryana Agriculture Planning and Development payable at Panchkula.

Police officials said that after the applicants had submitted the applications at their address in Sector 11 in Panchkula,the trio were planning to open a bank account to credit the money of the bank drafts in their name.

Police officials said that they are investigating whether any money had been credited into any of their account and whether they have been also taking bribes from job seekers promising jobs in the Agriculture Department.

Police raided their office at Sector 11 in the city on a complaint by the Assistant Director of the Agriculture Department,said Station House Officer (SHO),Sector 5,Mukesh Kumar. He added that the investigation in the case is on to find out the volume of money of which the trio had been able to dupe people of.

Police officials said that on the complaint of the Agriculture Department they also got a notice issued to the postal department in order to stop the delivery of the application forms at the office address of the department.

Officials add that the three accused issued the advertisements in the local newspapers for the jobs in the department and the agriculture department came to know about it when officials made a complaint to the police which investigated the case and found their involvement.

The three accused were arrested from their residences in Hissar,said Kumar,adding that the raids were also conducted simultaneously at the city office of the three accused from where they were operating their system.

“We seized some applications and found the demand drafts were attached with the forms,but we are investigating how much of money has been credited into the accounts of the people,” said Kumar.

Kumar further added that the three accused had also got published the pamphlets about the jobs in the department.
