23-year-old Mizo student found unconscious in hostel room,dies

A 23-year-old second-year student of Masters in Economics was found unconscious in his room at Panjab University,Boys Hostel 6,on Wednesday afternoon. V Pharu Sanga,23,was taken to PGIMER where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A resident of Mizoram,Sanga was found sitting on a chair in his room by two of his neighbours. “Sanga was living alone in the room which was allotted to him. The balcony of his room was shared with another room. The occupants of the nearby room saw him sitting on chair for a long time. They even tried calling Sanga but he did not respond. The two boys immediately called the warden of the hostel who then called the police,” said a police official.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Central Ashish Kapoor said,“There is no injury mark on the body. Cause of death can only be ascertained after post mortem”.

According to other hostel residents,Sanga kept to himself. He used to compose songs in his native language and had also participated in a youth festival organized by Students of Mizoram in Delhi a few months ago.
