20 City players to lead challenge

A contingent of 20 players from Chandigarh from different fields will take part in the Fifth TAFISA World Sports for all Games to be held in Siauliai,Lithuania from July 5 to July 11

A contingent of 20 players from Chandigarh from different fields will take part in the Fifth TAFISA World Sports for all Games to be held in Siauliai,Lithuania from July 5 to July 11. The players will represent the Sports for All Federation,India and the players will represent India in Archery,Arm Wrestling and Karate.

The archery team will be led by Beijing Olympian Mangal Singh Champia apart from Priyank and Kapil,who were members of the World Cup winning Indian squad. The other prominent members include Amarinder Singh,Navdeep Brar,national gold medallist Sanket Sharma and Alka Tomar. The Indian contingent is taking part in the competition for the first time and the team is hopefull of doing well in the championship. Shakshi raj and Divay Bansal will lead the challenge in Karate while in Arm Wresling event,Vikram Singh,Vikramjeet Singh,Anshul Arora,Sartaj Singh,Manraj Singh Toor and Dilip Singh.

The team: (Archery): Mangal Singh Champia,Kapil,Priyank,Sanket Sharma,Vikas,Amrinder Singh Sandhu,Navdeep Singh Brar,Nisha Tomar,Shaira Kansal,Neerja Sharma; (Arm Wrestling) : Vikram Singh,Vikramjeet Singh,Anshul Arora,Sartaj Singh,Manraj Singh Toor,Dalip Singh; (Karate): Shakshi Raj,Divay Bansal.
