2 women,1 man held in Panchkula sex racket

Police claimed to have busted a sex racket on Friday with the arrest of three youth,including two women,in the city.

Police claimed to have busted a sex racket on Friday with the arrest of three youth,including two women,in the city. Acting on specific information,police carried out a raid and made the arrests on Thursday evening from near a park in the city on the dividing road of Sector 26 and 27.

According to police officials,they had specific information that two women,who were accompanied by a man,were waiting in the area after they had cut a deal with some people to whom they were to be supplied. Based on this information,police carried out the raid and made the arrests.

Police officials said that the two women who were arrested are residents of Patiala and Jalandhar and were brought to the city by the youth.

According to police,they also recovered a car that was used for the crime and the two women along with the youth were sitting inside the vehicle when they carried out the raid.

During the investigation it has been revealed that the women were charging between Rs 5,000 to 7,000 a day to be supplied to people. The man who has been arrested was identified as Rajan Grover,a resident of Sirsa,and was the kingpin of the racket,police said,adding that the he would arrange meetings of the people with the woman for hefty sums of money.

Police officials said that they are investigating the case adding that the number of women in the racket could be much more than what has come out during initial investigations. A case has been registered under the Immoral Trafficking Act at Chandimandir police station and investigation is on.

Police is also on the look-out for a youth from Zirakpur,Tarun Goyal,who is absconding.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Chandimandir police station,Jai Prakash,said,“We have registered the case under Section 7 of Immoral Trafficking Act and the investigation in the case is on. As of now we have found the involvement of four youth but the number could be much more.”
