197 get degrees on ISB’s first graduation day

Pride and joy filled the air when 197 students were awarded their degrees at the Indian School of Business’s first graduation day that was held at its campus located in Mohali.

Pride and joy filled the air when 197 students were awarded their degrees at the Indian School of Business’s first graduation day that was held at its campus located in Mohali.

The chief guest on the occasion was Kishore Mahbubani,dean and professor in the Practice of Public Policy,Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.

Ajit Rangnekar,Dean,ISB,led the ceremonial procession. He wished the students the very best for their future and asked them to do their best to create an impact on the world outside the campus.

Mahbubani gave away special awards to certain students,apart from the 197 degrees. Shwaitang Singh,who got the Scholar of Excellence Award,said,“It was an amazing experience to be a part of this premier institute. It has got an excellent group of faculty and a diverse peer group”.

Dr Ashvini Jakhar,who was awarded the Chairman’s All Rounder award,stated,“I want to start my own business one day and for that one needs to have a scalable and sustainable plan,business education at ISB has taught me all this. People here come from different backgrounds which has helped me in learning many new aspects”.

Prof Madan Pillutla was chosen as ‘Professor of the Year for Core Courses’,while Prof Louis Thomas as the ‘Professor of the Year for Elective Courses’ and Praveen JN as the ‘Academic Associate of the Year’ by the students of the Mohali campus.
