A 17-year-old boy was found dead in his hostel room inside the campus of PML SD School Sector 32 On Thursday morning,under mysterious circumstances. The deceased was identified as Sarthik Goyal,a Class XII Commerce student from the school.
According to the school officials,the boy did not respond when his hostel fellows tried to wake him up in the morning. He was then rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,at around 7.30 am where he was declared brought dead.
The police said that the real cause of death cannot be ascertained until they receive the post-mortem report. Police have also sent his samples for the viscera test.
Sarthik belonged to Yamunanagar,Haryana. His uncle Neelkamal,who lives in Yamunagar with Sarthiks family,said that his father Satish Goel received a phone call from the hostel warden around 8 am on Thursday and the family immediately rushed to the city.
The warden called up Sarthiks father and asked him to immediately reach the hostel saying that Sarthik is unwell. However,it took us about two hours to reach Chandigarh. The doctors told us that he collapsed around midnight, said Neelkamal.
School Principal Manju Bhardwaj said,When the boy did not respond,we took him to the hospital.
Here,the doctors said that he had died four-five hours ahead of being taken to the hospital.
Sarthik had last spoken to his parents on Wednesday at around 8.30 in the evening. He told me that he has prepared well for his Accounts exam scheduled for Thursday. He had called after taking dinner. His friends told us that he went to bed at 11 pm after completing his revision and never woke up, said Sarthiks Father Satish Goel.
