10-yr-old missing girl found murdered in forest area

A 10-year-old girl who had been reported missing since Wednesday was found murdered in the forest area of Sector 54 late in the evening on Sunday.

A 10-year-old girl who had been reported missing since Wednesday was found murdered in the forest area of Sector 54 late in the evening on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Pinky,a resident of Palsora and a student of class VI at Government Model School,Sector 54.

According to the police,the body was found with rope marks around the neck and the possibility of sexual assault before the murder could not be ruled out. No other injury marks were found on the body.

The body was sent to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital in Sector 16 for post-mortem.

Senior police officers,including Senior Superintendent of Police Naunihal Singh,visited the scene of the crime.

The police said preliminary investigations had revealed no suspects and efforts were on to identify the accused.

On November 27,Pinki’s father Ram Kirpal Singh,a vegetable vendor living in Palsora,had reported that his daughter had gone missing. A case was registered at the Police Station in Sector 39 under sections 363-A and 366 of the Indian Penal Code.
