10 new dengue cases reported

As many as 10 new confired cases of dengue have been reported in the city in the past one week.

As many as 10 new confired cases of dengue have been reported in the city in the past one week. With this the number of such patients in different parts of city has reached to 28. Also,there are 12 dengue fever patients from outside the city who are being admitted to city hospitals taking the total number of cases in city to 35.

Student killed in road accident

Ambala: A BTech final student,Kamlesh,at IT College,Kalamb,was killed in an accident near the college on Monday. The victim,who belonged to Mandi (Himachal Pradesh),was returning to the college on his bike with his classmate Mohinder riding pillion. Mohinder suffered injuries and was hospitalised.

One-year jail awarded for bribing cop

Ambala: In a rare case,the court sentenced two persons for offering a bribe to a Sub-Inspector,who is in charge of Ambala City Sadar Police Station here.

ADJ R C Dimri awarded one-year imprisonment to the two accused -Satinder Singh and Rajpal – and fined them Rs 500 each. The two ran liquor vends and had offered a bribe of Rs 5,000. The SI,Naresh,had made a complaint against the two on January 20,2010,against both of them.
