‘Over Rs 100 cr seized’ in I-T raids on liquor firm in Odisha and Jharkhand
The searches were being conducted in Boudh, Balangir, Titlagarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Bhubaneswar in Odisha as well as in some locations in Jharkhand, sources said.
The highest amount was recovered from a county-liquor manufacturing unit at Balangir. Sources said searches would be intensified in the next few days.
The Income Tax (I-T) Department on Thursday continued for the second day on Thursday its searches at properties linked to Boudh Distilleries Private Limited, a liquor manufacturing firm, in Odisha and Jharkhand.
Sources said the cash unearthed during the searches would exceed Rs 100 crore.

The searches were being conducted in Boudh, Balangir, Titlagarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Bhubaneswar in Odisha as well as in some locations in Jharkhand, sources said.
Tax officials on Thursday also searched properties in Balangir district linked to Baldeo Sahu and Group of Companies, a partner firm of Boudh Distilleries and a leading country-liquor manufacturing firm. Properties of some liquor traders were also searched.
Though the I-T Department has not yet officially announced the exact amount of cash seized from the searches, sources said the amount would exceed Rs 100 crore.
