Minor tribal girl in Madhya Pradesh village rejects sexual advances, choked to death: police

A minor girl from a tribal community in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district was allegedly choked to death by a man from the village for rejecting his sexual advances, the police have said.

According to police, the incident took place on the intervening night of August 24 and 25, when the accused, aged around 45, entered the girl’s home around midnight with an accomplice. The two allegedly took her to another room and killed her, police said.

The accused and his accomplice have been arrested, the police said. “We will be able to establish whether she was raped after a forensic examination, but considering the injuries to her private parts, we added sections under POSCO Act as well,” SP Sidhi, Ravindra Verma said.
