A drunk fan tried to attack the personal assistant of Tamil movie star Vijay Sethupathi after he was allegedly not allowed to take a selfie at the Bengaluru airport on Tuesday night, police officials said.
Confirming the incident to indianexpress.com, police said no complaint has been registered by the actor’s personal assistant. They added that Vijay, along with his staff and security assistants, were leaving the airport when a man suddenly came from behind and tried to attack Johnson, who is the film star’s assistant.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. “After the incident, Johnson and the other security staff pinned down the attacker. The attacker allegedly attacked Johnson after he had turned down his request for a selfie with the actor since the man was drunk,” a police official added.
After some time, the attacker tendered an unconditional apology to the actor’s personal assistant and the team, and the issue was sorted, police said.
Vijay Sethupathi was reportedly in Bengaluru for a shoot of a reality show and had also visited the family of the late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away on October 29.
