The drone team headed by Rtd Maj Gen M Indrabalan Thursday confirmed that Kerala based Arjun’s truck is likely to be in the downstream area of the Gangavali river.

This was achieved using the Ebinger Ferromagnetic Locator which is a Drone Intelligent Buried Object Detection System (DIBODS) deployed for the operations to locate the missing cabin of Arjun’s truck in the landslide hit region of Shirur.

This comes a day after the rescuers locked the coordinates of the truck using ISRO’s satellite images.

The locator provided by CME Pune identified four distinct spots – widely separated – out of which two spots (in the downstream) indicated the possibility of truck container and the cabin, another spot indicating the road railings beneath the river. The operators are yet to ascertain the contents in the fourth spot.
