The Kunigal police have arrested six persons, including five contract killers, for the kidnap and murder of a youth from the city.
One of the alleged contract killers is a 50-year-old woman. The Kunigal police said L Harish, 24, was murdered by his uncle, Sadananda, who had been his caretaker for over 15 years in the city. The alleged contract killers involved in the murder have been identified as Hanumegowda, 25, his mother Premamma, 50, of Kunigal and his friends Madan Kumar, Sunil and Rajesh, all aged between 22- 25 years.
Investigations have revealed that Sadananda, a carpeting contractor who resides in Moodalapalya, had adopted his nephew Harish 15 years ago. Recently after a civil dispute arose between Sadananda and Harish’s father Lingappa, the adopted son was thrown out of the house. After leaving his uncle Sadananda’s house, Harish was staying in a rented house in the same area and started a small transport business.
According to police, the dispute between Harish’s father and his foster father meanwhile worsened and Sadananda allegedly decided to eliminate Harish. He contacted Hanumegowda to execute his plan and agreed to pay Rs 2 lakh as contract money and paid Rs 50,000 as an advance, police sources said.
