The booze lovers in Bengaluru can enjoy the night-life during New Year Week till 1 am as the city police have extended the late night deadline for several business establishments including bar and restaurants from December 24 to January 1, 2016.
“I have given permission for keeping open the hotels, eating houses, bars and restaurants, recreation clubs situated in Bengaluru police commissionarate till 1 am from December 24 to January 1, 2016 due for Christmas and New Year celebration. We also do not have any objection for these business establishments to keep open till 1 am for permanently if the state government agree for it,” NS Megharikh, Bengaluru city police commissioner said.
In his order copy, Megharikh said that the management of such establishments shall obtain required permission from the Excise Department for serving of liquor during the stipulated period. This order is not applicable to wine and liquor shops. The establishments should take all necessary precautions to maintain public order and not to create any nuisance.
