Over Rs 7 crore transferred to 22,000 Yuva Nidhi beneficiaries till date, says Skill Development Minister
According to the Skill Development Department, a total of 1.32 lakh students have registered under the Yuva Nidhi scheme which offers financial assistance to unemployed youth.

“Financial assistance is being disbursed six months from the date of degree completion of the unemployed candidate. Under this process, over Rs 7 crore has been disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 22,000 eligible students. Once the other students who have registered for the scheme graduate and complete six months, the allowance will be directly credited to their account,” said Patil.
According to the Skill Development Department, a total of 1.32 lakh students have registered under the Yuva Nidhi scheme which offers financial assistance to unemployed youth. Under the scheme, monthly unemployment assistance of Rs 3,000 is given to Degree holders and Rs 1,500 to Diploma holders. They will also be eligible for vocational training and upskilling under the Skill Development Department.
According to the data shared by the department, students from Belagavi topped the list with 12,612 students registered for the scheme. This is followed by Bengaluru Urban (9,586), Raichur (8,369), Kalaburgi (8,193) and Vijayapura (6,738). The least number of registrations are recorded in the districts of Chamarajanagar (1,685), Bengaluru Rural (1,775) and Kodagu (986).
About 5.3 lakh youth who have passed out during the academic year 2022-2023 have been identified as eligible beneficiaries. However, those with employment and those pursuing higher education are not eligible. The financial assistance is for two years.
A total of ₹250 crore is allocated for the remaining financial year, while the scheme is expected to cost ₹1,250 crore next year and ₹2,500 crore the year after.
