Karnataka: Sepoy from Belagavi succumbs to gunshot injuries in Pak ceasefire violation

Sepoy Rahul Bhairu Sulagekar, a soldier in the Indian Army from Belagavi, Karnataka, died in the line of duty Thursday midnight due to ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army.

The incident took place in Krishna Ghati Sector, Poonch district, Jammu.

The 21-year-old soldier, who hails from Uchagaon village in Belagavi, succumbed to gunshot injuries after an exchange of fire in the sector.

“He was evacuated to the nearest Medical Aid Centre wherein he was provided medical aid and resuscitation. However, Sepoy Rahul Bhairu Sulagekar succumbed to his injuries and attained Martyrdom on 08 Nov 19,” Lt Col Devender Anand, Defence PRO, Jammu said in a statement.
