Karnataka Congress leader D K Shivakumar was admitted Tuesday to the Apollo Hospitals in Bengaluru’s Seshadripuram for high blood pressure. According to the reports, he complained of restlessness and back pain Monday night following which he was taken to the hospital.
According to sources in the hospital, the doctors have recommended three days of rest to Shivakumar and have asked his family not to allow any visitors. Shivakumar was admitted to the hospital by his wife Usha and daughter Aishwarya.
Shivakumar was released on bail from Delhi prison recently in connection with a money laundering case.
On November 1, Shivakumar was admitted to the hospital following high blood pressure, variations in sugar level, back pain and chest pain.
The former minister was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the alleged money laundering case and was lodged in Tihar Jail. He was released on October 23 — exactly 50 days after he was taken into custody – after the Delhi High Court granted him bail. Shivakumar arrived in Bengaluru on October 26 to a rousing welcome from his supporters and Congress workers.
Recently Shivakumar was seen visiting various temples and mutts across Karnataka. He also visited his constituency Kanakapura in Ramanagara district.
On Monday, Shivakumar held a meeting to finalise Congress candidates for the upcoming Karnataka bypoll.
