The body of Naveen S G, who died in Ukraine on March 1 amid Russia’s invasion of the country, will be donated to a medical college, his father has said.
“My son wanted to achieve in the medical field, but he could not. Now, let his body help other students,” his father Shekarappa Goudar said. Naveen, who was studying at Kharkiv National Medical University, was killed when he stepped out to buy groceries. He was the first Indian casualty of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
His body, airlifted to Dubai on Saturday, will reach Bengaluru early Monday. Goudar said the body would be donated to SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in Davanagere after the family performs rituals.
