Four flights scheduled to land at KIA were diverted to Chennai due to the bad weather. The weather delayed the departure of at least 66 flights to various destinations and arrival of 30 flights were also affected.

BIAL spokesperson said the disruption was due to taxiway congestion, and scheduled take-off and landing of 33 flights were affected at the airport. Several passengers missed their connecting flights and hundreds of passengers in the airport were forced to wait for hours at the waiting lounge. Meanwhile, several passengers who were left clueless took to social media to express their frustration.

Amit Gupta, a passenger on Monday tweeted, “Bengaluru Airport – what a royal mess! Not a single place to sit. Overcrowded alleys. Long queues at eating joints. All this after travelling an hour from anywhere in the city to get to the airport, paying toll, spending 10 mins waiting to pay that toll @bengaluruairprt”

Karan Miglani a passenger, on Monday, tweeted: “Sitting at Bangalore airport to board for Delhi. Nobody informed flight is delayed.
