Bengaluru: Woman’s body, cut into over 20 pieces, found stored in refrigerator

The police suspect that the murder took place about 15 days ago and the mutilated pieces were kept inside a 165 litre refrigerator.

A woman’s dead body, cut into more than 20 pieces, was found stored in a refrigerator at a residence in Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval on Saturday.

The police said the woman, 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, is a native of Nelamangala near Bengaluru. The police have identified the woman’s husband as Hemant Das. The woman lived alone in Bengaluru.

The police suspect that the murder took place about 15 days ago and the mutilated pieces were kept inside a 165 litre refrigerator.

The murder came to light when the neighbours complained of foul smell, following which, the family members of the deceased came and checked.

Vyalikaval police have initiated an investigation. A police officer said the woman is suspected to be around 25 to 30 years old.
