Bengaluru techie dies by suicide; father highlights marital issues

The father of the deceased techie, however, told the police that he did not suspect any foul play in his son’s death.

The Bengaluru police Monday said a techie facing marital problems allegedly died by suicide at his residence.

The deceased has been identified as Prashanth Nair, 40, a resident of Ganigarahalli, north Bengaluru, who was living alone at the time of his death. The body of the victim was discovered by his father, M N Kutti, on Friday night. Kutti had gone to check on his son after not getting responses from him.

In his statement to the police, Kutti revealed that Nair’s relationship with his wife got strained over the past year, and the two fought over minor issues. Nair and his wife were married for 12 years and have a daughter.

The couple stayed in Hennur, before Nair decided to move out and started living alone in Ganigarahalli about a year ago. The father of the deceased told the police that he did not suspect any foul play in his son’s death.

A senior police officer confirmed that an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been filed. “There were no allegations of harassment or abuse from the wife. The two had been living separately for nearly a year due to personal disagreements,” the officer added.
