Bengaluru police book Vijesh Pillai on Kerala gold scam accused Swapna Suresh’s plaint
Swapna Suresh told the police that Vijesh Pillai claimed to have come on behalf of Kerala CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan to settle issues pertaining to the Kerala CM and offered her Rs 30 crore to disappear from Bengaluru.

(File) Based on a complaint by Swapna Suresh, the key accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, the K R Puram police station in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has registered a case against an individual identified as Vijesh Pillai under section 506 of the Indian Penal Code (for issuing threats).
Swapna Suresh, 42, an accused in the infamous gold smuggling case where the office of the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is also embroiled, told the police that a person identified as Vijesh Pillai sought a meeting with her on March 4 at the Zuri Hotel in the Whitefield area.
She has alleged that the person who met her at the hotel claimed to have come on behalf of Kerala CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan to settle issues pertaining to the Kerala CM and offered her Rs 30 crore to disappear from Bengaluru.
She has alleged that Vijesh Pillai threatened serious consequences if she did not accept the offer, and leave Bengaluru within a week.
The K R Puram police, which initially took up the complaint as a non-cognizable report, registered a formal First Information Report, on March 13 after preliminary investigations revealed that there was proof of the meeting between Swapna Suresh and Vijesh Pillai on March 4. The NCR was converted into a formal FIR with court clearances, the police said.
