The Bangalore city police have extended their permission to the Bars and Hotels to open till 2 am on January 1, in connection with the New Year Celebrations in the city.
Additional Commissioner of Police (law and order) Alok Kumar issued an order for the extension of night life upto 2 am on January 1. He has issued general no objection for all the Bars and Restaurants situated in the limits of the Commissionerate of Police, Bangalore City to keep them open from 12 midnight of 31st December 2014 upto 2 am on 1st January 2015. But, the Management of these bars should obtain necessary permission from the State Excise Department to keep their bars open during the additional hours.
This order is also applicable to the hotels, eating houses, restaurants, which do not serve liquor. These establishments would not require any permission from the Excise Department to keep their premises open during the additional hours.
The owners or managers of the places of entertainment need not apply for NOC individually to the police commissioner office. A copy of this order is being sent to all the Deputy Commissioners of Excise and the Excise Commissioner. Hence, the same should be treated as No Objection Certificate (NOC) for all the bars serving liquor.

The Bars, Restaurants and hotels should take necessary precautions to ensure that no nuisance or disturbance is caused to the neighborhood on account of music that may be played during the New Year Celebrations.
