A 30-year-old Nigerian national died on Sunday night in a suspected fall under mysterious circumstances from the terrace of a three-storey residential building at Kyasanahalli near Kothanur in North Bangalore.

The Kothanur police said the dead man had been identified as Obi Nthsebe a Nigerian national who came to Bangalore recently on a business visa.

He was declared dead at a private nursing home on Sunday night. The police said that many people from African countries including students were residents of the building where the Nigerian youth suffered his fall. Police however claimed that they did not know how Nthsebe fell from the terrace of the building on Sunday night.

Residents of the building said they came out of their homes after they heard loud screaming around midnight and found Nthsebe had fallen from the building. The police were informed about the incident by authorities at the hospital where the Nigerian youth had been rushed following his fall.

The police said the youth had been abandoned at the hospital and his identity could not be established till noon on Monday since nobody was beside him after his death.

The police later identified the building where the youth had been brought from and established the identity. Police suspect the Nigerian national might have been partying with his friends on the terrace of the building when he fell of the 2.5 feet parapet wall leading to his death.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east) TR Suresh said that a case of unnatural death had been registered. Concerned authorities in Nigeria had been informed about the death of Nthsebe police said.
