A 22-year-old youth from Rajasthan was on Monday arrested by police who said three crude bombs and a matchbox were found on him as he tried to enter the Rajasthani Sammelan at Parvat Patia here being addressed by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The youth has been identified as Noor Mohammed Sama,a resident of Bharatnagar in Bhatena who hails from Barmer district in Rajasthan.
According to police,Noor Mohammed is a tempo driver who has been living in Surat for the last few months.
Noor Mohammed was later produced before a judicial magistrate which sent him in one-day police custody.
During interrogation,the youth reportedly told police he and his friends had exploded crude bombs in their area to celebrate the Rajasthani Sammelan and that he was unaware about three bombs and a matchbox left in his pocket.
Limbayat police inspector L B Zala said the youth was being interrogated further about his motive and other details.
