Video clip on cops playing cards goes viral in Surat

A WhatsApp video showing policemen playing cards in the Athwalines police station while on duty had become talk of the town since Saturday morning. Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana has ordered an inquiry into the incident by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) E Division H M Dudhat.

The 1.5 minute video shows Athwalines police station surveillance staff police sub-inspector R B Wani, assistant sub-inspector Jashwant Batiya, head constable Hasmukh Patel and police constable Vijay Suryakant, were seen playing the cards while on duty in Athwalines police station in Surat city.

Sources said that the video has been taken during night, when all these policemen were on duty and they were leisurely playing cards in the surveillance staff office. Athwalines police station is considered to be a most sensitive police station in Surat.
